Yoga and Meditation weekly classes
Term begins – W/B Mon 6 Jan 2020
Half-Term Break – W/B Mon 10 Feb 2020 – No classes ALL this week!
Term Ends – W/E Wed 1 April 2020
What does it cost to trial a class?Yoga £10, Meditation £6, & Deep Relaxation £5 on the door to try a session. Subsequent classes are payable on a per-term basis, and work out a little cheaper & cheaper still for more than one session per week. As classes are progressive & the benefits of practising are accumulative, there are no drop-in classes, although it’s worth making contact if you have special circumstances.
What do I WEAR/bring to trial a class?
Wear loose fitting comfortable clothing in layers. There is no dress code! Bring a blanket/ large towel and a yoga mat if you have one. Please don’t buy anything yet, as I can recommend equipment for your subsequent classes and lend you some for the first session. People begin to arrive around 15 min before the start of each class and it’s best to get there at least 10 min early for your first session.
What equipment will I need if I sign up?
For Yoga: A yoga mat, yoga blocks (1 whole & 2 half blocks), a blanket. Advise is available for purchasing wisely.
For Meditation: Chairs are available for sitting at both venues, but if you choose to sit on the floor, a meditation cushion or yoga block will be needed. A yoga/ camping-type mat and blanket will be needed for lying down practices.
How do I get there?
Blackwell First School, St Catherine’s Rd, Blackwell, B60 1BN www.blackwellfirstschool.com/tour
From the village shop on Linthurst Newtown Blackwell, turn into St Catherine’s Rd at the cross roads and the school is on your right half way up. There is some parking in the school playground (via the black school gates) but if not, please park on the road outside the school (avoiding the yellow zig-zag markings) and enter via the school gates. We are up the stairs on the left (not the new main entrance), into the foyer and then into the school hall. If a class is in progress, you are welcome to wait in the foyer. Please do not park in the school staff car park on the opposite side of the road.
The Ark, School Lane, Alvechurch, Nr Redditch, B48 7SB www.thearkalvechurch.co.uk
The website above provides details on how to get there, but please be aware that School Lane is a one-way system, so if you can check the route ahead of time (actually or on Google Maps), it’s a good idea. It’s best to approach School Lane from Bear Hill and turn left on the first bend, towards St Laurence church, following signs for THE ARK. You will then see the entrance gates to the Church, so drive through the gates and THE ARK is the modern glass building down the drive on your left. There is ample free parking. From the entrance hall, we are at the top of the stairs in the Upper Room .
